3 Deadly Sins of Blogging That You Should Avoid

If you have just decided to start a new career as a blogger, then congratulations are in order. Blogging is not just a fulfilling way of expressing your opinions and showcasing your talents as a writer, but it is also a great way to earn extra income. You can generate this income by renting out your blog's virtual real estate to advertisers, by joining affiliate programs and marketing the products on your blog, by promoting your own products, and a host of other means. Many amateur bloggers have found themselves earning good money from their blog writing. If you are serious about making your mark as a blogger, however, there are three deadly sins that you should avoid when you write your blog posts. These three are listed here.
1. Never plagiarize your blog posts. No one likes a copycat, and certainly no one buys from a copycat. You will want to establish yourself as a credible and trustworthy blogger who knows what he or she is saying and is worth believing. You will not be able to achieve this if you copy other people's blogs and articles and pass them off as your own. It is perfectly okay to write about other people's concepts and ideas as long as you discuss them using your own perspective rather than copying them word for word.

2. Never checking what you wrote. When you write your blog posts, you want to look as professional as possible. This will add to your credibility and trustworthiness as a blogger. However, you will not earn that credibility and trust if you do not check what you wrote first before posting it on your blog. Before you put up a blog post, make sure that you have your facts straight, that your grammar is correct, that you do not have any spelling or typographical errors in your post, and so on. A neat and well-written blog post, no matter how short it is, will attract readers a-plenty.

3. Never responding to readers' comments. Blogging is about building a community. That is why blogging platforms have the comment field built into them. To be a successful blogger, you need to build a relationship with your readers and get them discussing what you have written. You will not get the ball rolling if you do not respond to your readers' initial comments. Besides, if you ignore these comments, your readers will think you are a snob and stop visiting your blog.

It is easy to succeed in blogging. Just remember to make your blog posts original, to check your writing for possible errors, and to build a relationship with your readers by responding to comments. Do all these three and avoid the deadly sins of blog writing.
