A lot of people who are writing articles are not getting maximum
benefits just because they don't know how to avoid committing costly
mistakes. One client reported that after spending hours writing his
articles, they were rejected by article directories just because they
did not comply with their terms of service. I am sure you don't want
this to happen to you as this is a total waste of time and energy. So,
avoid committing the following mistakes the next time you tap on your
keyboard:
- Writing topics that are not in line with your ebusiness. I don't know why but there are still a lot of writers who are wasting their precious time on writing articles that will not help them reach their internet marketing goals. I came across this one blogger who's selling blogging guide for beginners and who was writing articles about laptops and batteries. Do you think he'll be able to attract those people who want to learn the ropes of blogging through these articles? Well, I guess not. When choosing your topics, ensure that they're related to what you're selling. It will help if you do keyword research to know the topics that are being looked for by your potential clients and stick to those.
- Covering too many information on one article. One thing that online users really hate is reading lengthy articles. You cannot expect these people to spend their precious time reading something that contain more than 1,000 words. So, avoid making your articles unnecessary lengthy. Before you start writing, limit the scope of your content. Identify the most important information to discuss and ensure that your articles will contain no more than 600 words. If you still need to discuss more ideas after using 600 words, I would suggest that you create article series.
- Selling your products on your article body. As an internet marketer, it's obvious that your main goal is to make lots of sales. But tell you what, promoting your products or services in your article body will not help. People read articles and they expect to get nothing but in-depth, useful information. So, give them just that. Pitch in what you offer on your resource box.
- Using too many keywords. Internet marketers are obsessed in securing better page ranking for their articles. These people know that if they can get their copies on top of relevant listings, they'll get the kind of exposure they want not only for their articles but for their websites as well. This will not happen if you use too many keyword or if you "over optimize" your articles. Remember, the acceptable density for each keyword that you're targeting is just 1-2% of your article's word count. Anything more than that is considered keyword spamming. You would want to avoid this from happening as this is the main reason why search engines and article marketing sites reject articles.
